Winzip will handle that. High probability that you can download a
win32 version of tar and gzip. Google search will yield lots of results
, including source code respositories for both tar and gzip. Just
depends on which way you want to go.
MSYS distribution includes both utilities (tar and gzip).

I'm trying to find out if the gcc compiler
I just installed is the beta version or
the latest stable version.
When I say: gcc -v, it says:
gcc version 2.95.3-5 (mingw special).
Please let me know if this is the beta or latest

You'll need MSYS for a posix shell and you'll need to either port or
