Indeed, the coreutils test.exe isn't included in the MSYS base package;
it can be found in coreutils-5.97-3-msys-1.0.13-ext.tar.lzma, which is
an optional extra installation, with
mingw-get install msys-coreutils-ext
preferably after completing the base system installation with
mingw-get install msys-base
or concurrently, with
mingw-get install msys-base msys-coreutils-ext
