I have uploaded update of binutils (2.13.90-20021209-1) to MinGW's Sourceforge File Release page as a Release Candidate. You can download it from the Release Candidate section of: https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=2435 The binaries are in the archive: binutils-2.13.90-20021209-1.tar.gz The 2.13.90-20021209-1 snapshot incorporates modifications to binutils CVS since 2.13 release. Of these, the most important to mingw since the last update is the introduction of "pseudo-relocs", which fixes problems with auto-importing of data arrays and structures/classes from dll's. This feature requires additional runtime support in startup code to work; that support is currently under test. In addition it includes a patch from Ralf Habacker that extends the auto-import feature to direct importing of variables from dll without an import lib. For more info on binutils, follow this: http://sources.redhat.com/binutils/ Danny 2002-12-11 http://greetings.yahoo.com.au - Yahoo! Greetings - Send your seasons greetings online this year! |

It is very interesting. Does Mingw runtime already have the addiotional support? -- TAMURA Kent <ke...@ha...> <ke...@ne...> |

Does Mingw runtime already have the > addiotional support? Not currently. It works in my sandbox. The same basic code works on cygwin. But I'd like to shake out any loose bits from the binutils side first. Some of the support for auto-importing data symbols _without_ an implib is still really new The people who have put this all together are Cygwin developers: Egor Duda, Ralf Habacker, with a lot of constructive review from Charles Wilson. I'm just a good listener This feature is especially important for C++, where sometimes we may need to import "artificial" (compiler generated) data symbols and there is now no way the user can mark those with a __declspec(dllimport) Danny > -- > TAMURA Kent <ke...@ha...> <ke...@ne...> > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.NET email is sponsored by: Order your Holiday Geek Presents Now! > Green Lasers, Hip Geek T-Shirts, Remote Control Tanks, Caffeinated Soap, > MP3 Players, XBox Games, Flying Saucers, WebCams, Smart Putty. > T H I N K G E E K .
