It allows to run programs with elevated privileges. So, in truth I'm aiming to do something along the lines: hstart //elevate ""$NGINX_PATH" -s reload ${NGINX_CONF_PATH:+-c "$NGINX_CONF_PATH"}" hstart also has cmd-like syntax.
