Greetings I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can point me to a package install for the 64 bit version of the gfortran compiler (if such a thing exists). I installed what I thought was a generic package installer from sourceforge (mingw-get-inst-20120426.exe) but it only appears to install the 32 bit version. At least I am assuming that from the error I get below (I am on Win 7 with 64 bit o/s) c:\MinGW\source>gfortran -c helloworld.f90 -o program.exe c:\MinGW\source>program.exe This version of c:\MinGW\source\program.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher. As a result I have since downloaded and unpacked the 64 bit package (mingw-w64-v2.0.6.tar.gz) but am unsure what to do with it. Please be kind if I have missed something or done something dumb, I am an old timer from F77 but a newbie to gfortran just starting back at college for some retraining and it has taken me quite a while to reach this point. I am keen to contribute to the community. Thanks for your time, Keith |
