I need the UNIXy paths for make - as you wrote in "Re: [Mingw-users] 
make, mingw32-make and cmake" - the ":" character is make's target 
separator, so window's "volume separator" is interfering here.

I had not in mind that mingw apps are also "stand alone", so they can't 
return a path like "/c/mingw/...", because that only makes sense with MSYS.

I work on a "sed" patch in the makerules right now, seems to work.

But I think there are a lot more problems coming up :(

Smells like Cygwin :)
