When such an interface DLL would be unloaded resources used up by the subsystem would not necessarily automatically be reclaimed. Again I repeat I don't know the implementation details of winsock2. However another poster wrote that such resources would be reclaimed after some time. _If_ that is indeed correct then it is an indication that winsock2 is indeed a subsystem which releases resources after some timeout.
