OLE DB using C or C++ is a nightmare. But you can accomplish this with standard Windows interfaces like IAccessor, IRowset and etc. There are very few examples of using OLE DB interfaces without ATL. This is because of the amount of work needed to implement these interfaces using C/C++. You can see in MSDN website the help for OLE DB interfaces. You will find some examples in Code Project website ( www.codeproject.com), in the database section.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for using OLE DB using Mingw as
the compiler. I am writing a windows console application and I need to
connect to a MS SQL DB. I didn't want to have to switch to VISUAL studio
2005 to write this program. I have done a lot of searching on the web, but
haven't found a reference on how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
