Hi!  Ok, I've used my Linux-hosted Mingw32-targetted cross compiler to compile grep-2.4.2 for my Windows box.  The build went fine, with a MINOR hiccup when linking "grep.exe" against libintl.a because ranlib was not run against the lib.  I fixed that and all was well.

Now, when I run grep.exe on my Windows box and I specify the "-r" (recursive) option, I get "permission denied" messages for every subdirectory encountered during the search by grep.   I cross compiled grep-2.4.2 from the GNU source like this:

$ CC=i386-mingw32-gcc ./configure --target=i386-mingw32 --host=i386-mingw32 --build-i586-pc-linux-gnu

I used i386-mingw32-ranlib when I "fixed" the libintl.a library I had the problem with.   Any ideas?  I'm running the compiled grep.exe on Windows NT 4.0 (SP6).
