You do not need to run mingw-get with administrator privilege; indeed, I recommend that you don't.  What you do need to ensure is that the user who is running it has full permissions to create directories and to write files throughout the MinGW directory tree

What there is in MinGW that makes your recommend to not use the administrators group? The only difference I can see from your alternative is something terribly obsecure and wrong with MinGW that would mess up stuff out of MinGW. Also, technically your alternative is not necessarily different than the administrator option, since it's possible that the user in question has as much privileges in the system as the administrators group. So again, what exactly may get wrong that makes you recommend that?
