What is the difference between SJLJ and DW2 versions? Most sites I look at that actually talk about the different versions only say "pick sjlj for stability" or something like that. To me, that isn't a worthy explanation.

Good point.  If it is a necessity that mingw64 uses sjlj then I would
conclude that for MinGW distribution we distribute only sjlj and give
instruction on how to build from source for dw2.  I don't think MinGW
should have the burden of supplying both.
