Hello, I've been trying to use latest SWIG (1.3.21) on mingw (1.0.9) with python (2.3.2 (#49, Oct  2 2003, 20:02:00) [MSC v.1200 32 bit (Intel)] on win32), i.e. the python executable is from the binary installer available for windows from the python website.

I did the pexports stuff to create libpython23.a under <python-root>/libs. If I go to swig/Examples/python/simple and type "make", the build succeeds, i.e. it creates a file _example.dll. If I then type "python runme.py", or start python interactive and do "import example", python crashes with error:

abnormal program termination
Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)

Anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Oliver
