I have an action that I want the user to choose during the selection of a package that will be acted upon after the package is installed. I can control this via differing meta packages but is it possible to have this control within a package?

If not, I would like to suggest this as a feature request.

I'll need a more comprehensive specification of the requirement, before I can comment definitively. Is it something which could be handled within a post-install script? If so, can you achieve it already, with an interactive lua script, when run within the command line installer? If this is the case, perhaps we need to explore a mechanism for extending interactive capability to lua scripts run within the GUI? Alternatively, can you provide a package-specific installer component, which could be invoked by the post-install script? (Possibly with assistance from mingw-get itself, to discriminate between CLI and GUI invocation)?

Whatever mechanism seems appropriate, I really want to keep mingw-get package-agnostic. Features which are specific to any one package, and which cannot be exploited generically by any other package, are less likely to be considered favourably.
