Can't seem to be able to update miktex, which I have been doing regularly for
years under Win XP.
After a second error popup claiming
"The operation ould not be completed for the following reason: Windows API
error 0. The operation completed succesfully"
a third one identical to the first reappears, namely
"Server was unable to process request -> Object reference not set to an
instance of an object"
And then when I click on the box to view log, the machine opens a folder
containing the (useless and very long full log, namely C:/documents and
settings/username/, which is of no help whatsoever.
I don't have any problems with any other programs. Miktex is still running
fine, but I cant update it.
What is going on? What should I do?
Thanks in advance

Your guess is wrong. MiKTeX 2.5 is still supported. See
