When I use $\hat{\alpha}$, I get a console output that show: ! Missing $inserted.$ l.22 ... $\hat{\alpha}$ ? Process has been terminated ... When I use $\hat{\beta}$ or any other greek alphabetical symbol, I get the proper expected result. Only alpha seems to cause this result. Highly unlikely. Please provide a minimum document that produces the problem. Most likely, you have an odd number of \$. Try this: go to your line 22 and replace alpha with beta, with no other changes, and try compiling. Alan Isaac
