OK, I don't know why your local pdftex.cfg doesn't work anymore. But why don't you want to use the geometry package to set the papersize - it's dead-easy. Using the geometry package in stead of a local pdftex.cfg makes your document portable so it will look the same everywhere. Hans -- Associate professor Hans F.
