You need to export (or save) as LaTeX from Maple then run latex on the output file; the only way that I can imagine you might get the error message you quote is if you have exported as HTML. If that doesn't help then I think you need to be more explicit about what you have done and provide more complete error information. (The LaTeX exported by Maple is extremely horrible, but that's another matter!) I would recommend you to install the Maple support files in your local texmf file tree, not in the main texmf one, but I think you have no choice but to do that by hand (and then refresh the MiKTeX filename database). I put mine directly in the localtexmf/tex/latex directory rather than in a subdirectory. Francis _____ From: mik...@li... [mailto:mik...@li...] On Behalf Of kat...@hi... Subject: [MiKTeX] Cannot get maple input to work properly (maple2e.sty) I get the following error message "!doctype html public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 ......." Does anybody know what the problem is? I have installed maple2e.sty and its sub-userpackages in ..texmf/tex/latex/base manually since I coudn't find the package via the package-manager.
