Is it possible to let Yap refresh without catching the
focus?
Under Xwindows, I use to send a SIGUSR1 signal to xdvi.
Does something like that exsit for Yap?

My goal is to have a "flash-mode" for LaTeX: using
emacs, it is quiet easy to run LaTeX as soon as the
file is modified, but if I want to go on typing, emacs
should keep the focus while Yap is called to refresh
its window...

Thank you for your help!

Interesting feature. I'll put it on the to do list.

I second this. I image this could be implented as an
interval setting in options, which is (naturally) configurable.
As a completion the same could go for a tex of texify option
to tell it to run the compile stage continuously in the
background (with priority considerations!) So the only thing
you need to do is type in your editor, get an open yap
window and watch the characters appear in the document.
