Please consider including the epspdf package in MikTeX. It converts between eps, ps and pdf in any direction, can convert to grayscale and can create a tight boundingbox.

The package, which is on CTAN, consists of a command-line script epspdf.tlu for which MikTeX has all the non-optional prerequisites built-in, and a tcl/tk gui front-end, which is not necessary for the command-line script.

Note that the latex package epspdfconversion uses epspdf, and is already included in miktex.

epspdf can compute really tight bounding boxes and is especially interesting for pstricks figures: the bounding box of such figures is often badly calculated by pst-eps, and without that tool I have to compute myself the true bounding box with the help of GsView for each figure, which is a long process. So I hope it will finally be included in MiKTeX.
