The metrics plugin seems to build the metrics from the
already compiled code. If I disable the metrics
builder on my project and then use the ant.xml file to
build the metrics output file will it detect the
changes that have occured?

Here is my target:

<target name="build" depends="init">
<tstamp/>
<metrics.enable projectName="myproject"/>
<!-- shouldn't require a build to generate metrics -->
<metrics.export
projectName="myproject"
file="myproject-${DSTAMP}-${TSTAMP}.xml"/>
</target>

After running this the first time which took a very
long time on my source - hours - the second time
running it is quite fast - minutes.

So I am just wondering if it will be able to detect the
files that have changed and update the metrics that it
has already cached accordingly?

You can see the builders for a project by right
clicking the project in Ecliipse and selecting
properties and then builders.
