MetPad 0.8pre released

A Pre-Version of MetPad V0.8 is released.
Sorry, but right now I'm not able to provide a binary version for Linux, but since tcl/tk should be installed on every good Linux System anyway just download the source zip and run the tcl script :-)

New features in this version
- Sizer (for resizing window easier) on the bottom right
- Click on line number multiselects line
- Right click on line number de-multiselects line
- Quick-jump to files 1-9 with <Ctrl> + <1...9>
- Highlight current line (option)
- If text is selected and F3 is pressed selection is used for quick-search
- If text is selected and Find-Window is opened selection is used for search-field
- Selected text can be moved by mouse-button-2 drag-and-drop
- Double click in file list openes new file
- Steering Command Console (for debug purposes)
- GUI: Moved status bar out of paned window
- some command mode improvements
- Execute commands (built in plugin)
- Status bar messages are cleared after a configured time
- General settings window
- Configurable status message and command mode timeout

CVS Repository available

After quite a while the metpad main application is available in the CVS repository.

MetPad 0.8 Feature Preview

There has been a break, but MetPad development still goes on.
Some features of the next version 0.8 which are already implemented:
- Sizer (for resizing window easier) on the bottom right
- Click on line number multiselects line
- Right click on line number de-multiselects line

RunTclScript Plugin V0.2 available

The RunTclScript Plugin is now available in version V0.2
This plugin allows you to run the file which is currently edited as Tcl/Tk-Script.
New feature:
- standard output (puts) of the script is displayed in a text area
- commands can be sent to the running script

MetPad 0.6 Released!

The time has? come to release MetPad V0.6 :-)

MetPad Development Snapshots

For those ones who can not wait for "stable" MetPad releases:
A new download package "MetPad DevelSnapshots" is available, when new features are added or bugs are fixed a snapshot of the the new MetPad will be released in this package. This may be daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, ... :-)

MetPad 0.6 Feaure Preview

MetPad 0.6 is on it's way - the following new features are allready packed:
- metpad.dat and metpad.gif are no longer needed
- Quicklaunch bar opens file-selection box when the entry ends with "/" or "\&quot;
- Recently used files are stored
- Multiselection can be copied or cut to clipboard
- Plugins are supported from now on
- Cursor positions can be bookmarked (with user defined names)

MetPad 0.5 Feature Preview

Aside from the internal structure change the following features of MetPad 0.5 are allready implemented and working:
-- Undo/Redo: Unlimeted undo/redo function for all files in the workspace
-- Save all: Save all opened (and modified) files in the workspace

MetPad 0.5 Project News

MetPad 0.5 is under development.
Q: But why jumping from 0.3 to 0.5?
A: Because the internal structure of MetPad changed dramatically, all essential functions like open/save/add/close files are re-written.
Q: Allright, but why is this?
A: This was necessary for at least one function: Unlimited Undo/Redo function for all opened files (In MetPad versions <= 0.3 the Undo/Redo stack was cleared when jumping from one opened file to anoher).
Other advantages: less lines of code with increased functionallity and easier implementation for the find-algorithm.
So, let's see whats coming up...

MetPad 0.1 released!

The first version of MetPad is released!
Basic text editing functionality and dealing with multiple files is allready supported.

MetPad 0.1 coming soon

The very first version of MetPad will be released in the next couple of days. Some funtions and features will still be missing, but the editor is allready capable of dealing with multiple files and basic editing-functions are ready
