Hi folks! I'm new to Mesa, and I have a slight problem. From what I've gathered from the manpages, Mesa should connect to the X server for hardware support. However, whenever I run an application that uses Mesa, it claims to be using software rendering, and it surely performs like it does. Does anyone know why Mesa doesn't use my hardware acceleration and what I can do about it? I'm using a GeForce3 video card, XFree86-4.0.3-5 and Mesa-3.4-13. Is there a configuration option or something like it? By the way, I tried installing the linux version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and when it starts, it says it cannot load some Mesa-related so file. I think it had with software rendering to do, but that doesn't seem to be a problem with the Mesa demos, on the other hand. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance! _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp. |
