Hi, I have a PC with a VooDoo 3 running Debian, with a 2.4.5 kernel. I
compiled in DRI, 3Dfx-VooDoo3 support, and I was told to compile in tdfx, but
I can't find it in Character Devices like I was told I would find it. I got
Mesa-4.0 and did a ./configure, a make, and a make install in the dir after
un-tar-gz'ing it. I added a 3Dfx device with ./MAKEDEV 3Dfx in /dev, but
whenever I run Quake 3 it defaults to software rendering and goes at 1fps.
So, it's obviously not using the VooDoo 3 properly. I tried running my copy
of XFree86 (I think v3, whatever version comes w/ Debian ISO 2.2.19pre17) at
16bpp. No luck.
Running test3Dfx or Unreal Tournament both complain they cannot find the
VooDoo3/Banshee hardware. 3Dfx segfaults. UT quits.
Does anyone know what I'm missing here?
