It's been a looong while (in our terms) since the last MegaGlest
release, because we took an evenly long and needed summer break.
Nevertheless, there has been work going on since the 3.5.2 release both
before and after the summer break. Thanks to this, we're now headed
towards a new release, first and quite soon a beta, followed up by what
will probably be 3.6.0.
A lot has changed since the 3.5.2 release in May this year so our busy
programmers also added a couple new translation keys. Not this many
really but still enough to make it worthwhile for you. ;-)
More importantly, though, they added UTF-8, right-to-left and
per-language TrueType font support. As such, the new release will
support many. many new languages IF we can get translations for them.
I should, however, stress that we want to have the beta out pretty soon
now, so that people can test and report any (obviously plainly
theoretical ;-) ) bugs, and we can have a new release out soon. The beta
will be released with full installers on all supported platforms, so
that as many as possible can test it and we'll have a nice release soon
Since these are full installers, we want them as complete as possible,
so please try to send your translation our way NO LATER THAN:
DEADLINE (for the beta):
WEDNESDAY, 26th of OCTOBER, 24:00 UTC
Please note that any translations received AFTER this date cannot be
included in the beta. We can still include them in the next release, but
please try to get them ready for the beta already, so that people have
something nice to play with already and non-native english speakers are
not forced to resort to english.
To date, all keys for the following languages are complete:
... but keys for the following existing tranlsations are missing:
As in the past, we have compiled a translation package for you to download:
This file contains all currently existing main, tutorial and scenario
language files. Most importantly, please translate the main and tutorial
translations - if you have more time to spend, you are welcome look into
the scenarios, too.
If you're new to translating MegaGlest, please have a look at our Wiki
where we explain the general translation process:
As always, TESTING YOUR CHANGES is very, very important, please do it if
you can. Note that this will be much easier _after_ the beta becomes
available since only then will you have a current version available
which references the newly added translation keys.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch on the
translations forums at http://glest.org/glest_board/?board=14.0 or by
e-mail (<contact@...>) and IRC chat
(<http://chat.megaglest.org/>) - but please bring some time + patience,
we are not around 24/7! You can paste your finished translations on the
translations forums or send them by e-mail. And please let us know how
you'd like to be credited (i.e. your name or nickname).
THANKS in advance for your help! You're awesome and your help is very
appreciated - for many your translations are what actually enables them
to play our lovely game!
