well, thanks for giving me a reason to do it :>
album art support using id3lib is now implemented and commited in revision 1357,
taglib will follow shortly.
you can test it if you feel comfortable compiling from SVN, otherwise just wait for the next release which hopefully will not take too long.

Wow! That was fast! Can't wait for it to appear. Thanks again!
ok, taglib is also done (rev 1359), would be nice if someone could test it since I do not have a renderer that supports album art.
turned out to be a rather easy-to-implement feature and since you submitted the request I finally had enough motivation to look at it ;)
Got the source, but autoconf is choking:
configure.ac:33: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_CONFIG_HEADER
configure.ac:36: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE
Running kubuntu feisty. If I could download a test version I'd be happy to provide feedback.
make sure that you have autoconf (at least version 2.59) and automake (at least version 1.9) installed, then execute "autoreconf -i" to generate the configure script
I don't know if you have seen my post in the forum, but it does not look too good - I implemented the feature according to the spec, also looked how other server do it,
but it did not work on the PS3 (one of our PS3 users did test it).
I could not see any album art references in the WMP11 XML, so not sure how it worked for you; do you know other UPnP servers with working album art, so we could compare?
feature available in 0.10.0, album art is extracted with the help of taglib or id3lib
