I have been having a problem with Mediatomb not being available for my ps3 and other upnp players. Sometimes I can just restart the service with
-> Sudo /etc/init.d/mediatomb restart and it works.
However most of the time it does not. I have multiple interfaces on my PC one wireless and one wired. I have tried the bind command
-> Sudo /etc/init.d/meidatomb start - "ip address"
with Mediatomb as well and this only seems to be a temporary fix. The computer is configured with a static address so dhcp shouldnt be affecting me unless there is an isuse that mediatomb is binding with the wireless interface. (which i do not know how to tell if this is the case) Do you guys have any suggestions for troubleshooting this issue?
Thanks for the help!
I believe that MediaTomb will bind to the first available interface, so it might be randomly binding to the wireless interface. If you want to bind to a specific interface open /etc/default/mediatomb and set the INTERFACE variable to the appropriate value e.g. eth0
Sounds good ill edit to config file tonight and see what that does. Thanks
