I have my media server (running MythTV and MediaTomb) mounting remote directories over SSHFS. SSHFS uses FUSE so it doesn't run as the mediatomb user. I've set the permissions on the remote directories to be globally readable, and I can view/recurse them as a different user - but mediatomb still can't see them it seems.
Anyone had any luck with a similar setup?
Scrap that, fixed it. It was permissions…
Added mediatomb to the fuse group ("usermod -a -G fuse mediatomb")
Just make sure the following is done as well…
Modify /etc/fstab to have the following in the mount command: "allow_other,default_permissions"
Uncomment "user_allow_other" in /etc/fuse.conf
