How can I hide the file extensions on video in MediaTomb? I am streaming to the PS3.
I installed mediatomb recently and ran into the same thing. You can handle this with a change to the import script. In my case I have nicely formated titles in the metadata of mp4 files. Therefore I wanted to use the mp4 metadata when it exists, but use the filename (without the extension) when there is no title in the metadata.
Adding this to addVideo() in import.js seems to work:
var title = obj.meta[M_TITLE];
obj.title = title;
obj.title = obj.title.substr(0,obj.title.lastIndexOf(".")) || obj.title;
