I don't know whether this counts as bug or feature request, as it is related to device compatibility (or DLNA compatibility). So please move/delete it, if it doesn't match.

My media server (AVM Fritz!Media 8260) requires in the protocolInfo-Parameter of the <res> tag not only the MIME type in the third block, but also the media format defined by DLNA.ORG_PN in the fourth block. This seems to be compliant to the DLNA specification, which requires the DLNA.ORG_PN parameter to be always present.

E.g. MediaTomb serves with --enable-protocolinfo-extension this:

protocolInfo="http-get:*:video/x-msvideo:DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0

while other server provide

protocolInfo="http-get:*:video/x-msvideo:DLNA.ORG_PN=AVI;DLNA.ORG_OP=01;DLNA.ORG_CI=0

There is already a partial support for this parameter in cds_resource_manager.cc for MP3, PCM, and JPG files. Can this support also added for all other files?

    Sure, because the protocolInfo option in MediaTomb is just a hack to get some devices like the PS3 going. MediaTomb is *not* a DLNA compliant server and it won't be for some time, currently only the very minimum is implemented to enable some devices that refuse to operate with a plain UPnP implementation.
