G4 800mhz OSX.1.5

Using Cloanto cross platform Amiga Forever software and
MaxUAE 8.22. This is all new to me so....

Dropped the rom.key, the kick130.rom (renamed kick.rom)
and the wb130.adf (renamed df0.adf) into MaxUAE folder.

Getting a scrolling 'Illegal Instruction.....Your Amiga
progr....' message (this window is partially blocked by the
main UAE screen so I can't read the whole message).

Is this common ? The read.me mentions problems with
Cloanto ROM users. The FAQ also mentions :

"Q: When UAE starts up, it says "Illegal instruction: 00f8"
(many times). Why?
A: That's because your Kickstart ROM was compiled for the
68020.
(could also happen when there's a bug in UAE)"

Is this my problem?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.....

many thanks

PS is it worth running an earlier mac UAE in classic with the
Cloanto software ?

    Same here. Unsurprisingly ;-) 12" G4 Powerbook, MacOS X
10.2.3, AmigaForever 5.0, latest copy of MaxUAE.

The 68020 problem was my first thought, seeing as I was
using 3.0 and 3.1 ROMS. However, you shouldn't have that
with 1.3 ROMS because they only use 68000 code - but
the same error occurs irrespective of ROMs.

It's actually the blitter (not the CPU) that is causing that error. I'm
putting in the new blitter code from WinUAE, which _might_ fix this
    problem in some cases.

Try changing the cpu speed, give the processor more time, (lower
numbers) so that the blitter doesn't get clobbered. If you get this
with CPU speed set to 1, then there is a problem with the program
you are running, if you get it with other CPU speed values, then the
blitter code is taking too long on your machine, and the CPU is
    missing clock cycles.

I leave my CPU speed set at 2 or 3 most of the time, because my
iBook just doesn't have the muscle for anything better.

Naturally the caveat to this fix is blitter problems. Strange screen
artifacts when a game or demo really bangs the copperlist.
