<h3>List archives</h3>
<p>There are two collections of prior postings to maxima@math.utexas.edu.</p>
<ol>
<li>The <a href="http://www.math.utexas.edu/pipermail/maxima/">mailing list archive at U Texas</a> contains messages from January 2006 and later. Older messages were removed to prevent email-address harvesting (an anti-spam measure).</li>
<li>The <a href="http://maxima.sourceforge.net/email-archives/">mailing list archive at the Maxima web site</a> contains messages from 2000 through 2005.</li>
</ol>
<p>There are two ways to search the Maxima mailing list archive.</p>
<p>(1) You can try this search engine query. Search results are automatically limited to the mailing list archive.</p>
<form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search">
<fieldset>
<legend style="display: none">Gooogle Search</legend>
<input type="hidden" name="domains" value="www.math.utexas.edu/pipermail/maxima"/>
<input type="hidden" name="sitesearch" value="www.math.utexas.edu/pipermail/maxima"/>
<input type="hidden" name="ie" value="UTF-8"/>
<input type="hidden" name="oe" value="UTF-8"/>
<input type="text" name="q" size="25" maxlength="255" value=""/>
<input type="submit" name="btnG" value="Google Search"/>
</fieldset>
</form>
<p>(2) You can also read and search the list (from about July 2002) as a newsgroup, <a href="http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mathematics.maxima.general">gmane.comp.mathematics.maxima.general</a> at <a href="http://gmane.org/">gmane.org</a>.</p>
<h3>Using the Maxima mailing list</h3>
<p>To post a message to all the English list members, send email to <a href="mailto:maxima@math.utexas.edu">maxima@math.utexas.edu</a>. Please consider sending your message as plain text; HTML messages are difficult to read in digests and archives.</p>
<p>Please subscribe before posting a message. If you do not subscribe, your message may not be rejected, but it may not be delivered either.</p>
<h3>Subscribing and unsubscribing and other account maintenance</h3>
<p>To subscribe or unsubscribe or otherwise modify account options, go to <a href="http://www.math.utexas.edu/mailman/listinfo/maxima">http://www.math.utexas.edu/mailman/listinfo/maxima</a>.</p>
<p>Mailing list administrators, please see <a href="http://www.math.utexas.edu/mailman/admin/maxima">http://www.math.utexas.edu/mailman/admin/maxima</a>.</p>
