It is not possible to use the "solve-command" or "algsys-command" to solve exponential equatons. Only the "to_poly_solve command" seems to function but only with complex solutions. That is unfortunatly not workable for using Maxima in school in order to substitute the CAS-Systems of Texas Intruments, Casio or maple. Is it possible to develop only one solve command for all types of equation? Is anybody able to do this?
It would help to use Maxima in school.
Thank you
Chritian

The answer to both questions is `yes.'

You would need to ask on the list about if anybody has something close to what you want. Or maybe you could write some code that works for you. It might be possible to modify to_poly_solve to work the way you would like
    a solve function to work.

Actually this a feature request, not a bug report, I think.
