Hey guys! This is the main Developer, Jasper. Thank you for downloading or at least viewing this SourceForge page. I've been working on the project for some time now, but I never got around to release it. Finally I have gotten to a point where I could release it, and call it an official release called MathQuizGame 1.1.
If you have a problem, please start a new ticket, and I will try to help, or start a topic on the discussion forum. Or if you customized the code and want to share it with me and anyone else, post it on the discussion forum as well.
I have a few things I would like to do in the future, but I'm not able to do so at the moment. Here are some major things that need to be done:
- When you download the project, it is a runnable Java Archive file (.jar), but I would like to make an .exe (for Windows) and an .app (for Mac) file. For now and for Linux users, you will have to double-click the Jar file. The downside to this is that the icon doesn't look pretty, so I'm going to make an icon for it.
- The Jar file was built with Java SE 7 (also Java 1.7), so it won't work with older Macs that can't install Java SE 1.6 (or Java 1.6) onto it. I want to make a Jar file built with Java 1.5 so the Jar file will run on older Macs. Note that the source code is compatible with Java 1.5, but the Jar file currently uploaded is not.
- There are more commands when you are running the game that I'd like to implement, like /say, /msg, and /setFont, but those are really complicated things and I will be working on that for MathQuizGame 1.2.
- Finally, I'd like to have a game mode. Right now it is just Addition questions you answer, but what about Subtraction? Multiplication? Division? Squares? Square Roots? Would you want the game to be timed? I want to add some of these things to the game as well.
So those are the upcoming things to happen, and when you do get an update, don't forget to read the README file that it comes with to view the version history.
