#926 CPU throttling error even when CPU's are at maximum frequency

I have a new Lenovo T440s with a new Haswell chip (i5-4200U). My kernel is compiled without CONFIG_X86_INTEL_PSTATE. I have set the governor to performance using cpufreq-set, and here is the result of cpufreq-info:

As you can see, my the frequency of all of my cores is at the maximum of 1.60GHz. However, when I build atlas-3.10.1 (On Gentoo), I get the error stating that CPU throttling is enabled and so the build fails.

How do I fix this?

  • It looks like your system is still varying CPU frequency between 800-1.6. For ATLAS to work right, you need to peg it at a given frequency (best would be 1.6).
