#865 Make shared

I am trying to build the shared libraries for the LAPACK files with ATLAS. From the build directory I type 'make shared' and it seems to complete with some errors, but does not build all of the shared libraries specified in the Makefile. At first the build was having problems locating libgfortran and according to http://math-atlas.sourceforge.net/errata.html#sharedProbe I changed it to the correct path and got a little further.

Now the problem is illustrated by this snippet:
/bin/ld: cannot find rpath-link /home/melrobin/ATLAS/build/lib: No such file or directory
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make[4]: *** [GCCTRY] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/melrobin/ATLAS/build/lib'
make[4]: Entering directory `/home/melrobin/ATLAS/build/lib'
ld -melf_x86_64 -shared -soname /home/melrobin/ATLAS/build/lib/libtatlas.so -o libtatlas.so \ -rpath-link /home/melrobin/ATLAS/build/lib \ --whole-archive libptlapack.a libptf77blas.a libptcblas.a libatlas.a --no-whole-archive -L/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.7.2 -lgfortran -lc -lpthread -lm -lgcc
make[4]: Leaving directory `/home/melrobin/ATLAS/build/lib'
libtatlas.so built wt ld and all sys libs

I did some twiddling with the Makefile to point to /home/melrobin/ATLAS/build instead of /usr/local/atlas/ to see if it would make any difference and it did not.

/home/melrobin/ATLAS/build not only exists but has these contents
libatlas.a libf77refblas.a libptf77blas.a libtatlas.so Make.inc
libcblas.a liblapack.a libptlapack.a libtstatlas.a
libf77blas.a libptcblas.a libsatlas.so Makefile

Can you help me fix this error? Am I correct in thinking that make shared makes shared versions of all the libraries? I configured with the --shared flag and this always works to make libsatlas.so and libtatlas.so, but I wanted shared LAPACK libraries.
