I will, thanks! I may need some more help, I hope that’s OK. If I may I’ll give a brief overview of what I want to do: I used to serve on the ISO C++ committee but got a bit tired of it so I implemented by own language (Felix). It generates C++ code which is then compiled by the system compiler (gcc or clang and hopefully later MSVC++). I have an interest in performance, science, multi-threading etc etc. I have recently implemented a parallel for loop and compared the performance of a simple serial algorithm multiplying a matrix A by a matrix B (transposed) with a couple of other methods. I’m running on a nice new Macbook Pro with 16G Ram and 2.2G Intel i7. Running OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). The native compiler is clang 3.3, and “gcc” is linked to it (so a script saying “gcc x.c” is actually running clang not gcc). I am currently building a GSL binding, which includes the CBLAS interface. I have a copy of GSL and its CBLAS, and gotoBLAS so its time for Atlas.. I’ve been a lurker here for some time, but now I have a box fast enough to do something :-) To build Atlas it seems I need Fortran among other things. I am going to try to use http://hpc.sourceforge.net/ which has gcc 5.1 and gfortran for OSX as a binary. I tried this some time ago but it wouldn’t link correctly (and seemed confused about libraries). Author seems to be: Gaurav Khanna Physics Department University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth North Dartmouth, MA 02747. Hope it works :) I have no idea how to configure or tune Atlas but I guess we’ll get to that :) — john skaller sk...@us... http://felix-lang.org |
