I have a need for a X terminal emulator that can run in full-screen mode, yet must remain at 80x25 for the legacy application run within it. Since this sestup will need to work on a variety of hardware, I would like the emulator to dynamically select the best font size automatically. I've tried quite hard to make mxrvt fit the bill but I cannot work out a combination of options that would accomplish this.
Can anyone tell me if this simply isn't possible with mxrvt or how I'd accomplish that? The closest I've seen to such a feature anywhere is in the Windows version of putty, which has options for what to do when a window is resized: change font size, change rows/columns. Unfortunately that particular feature isn't available in the Linux version. I'm not tied to any particular emulator, but mxrvt seems to be one of the most configurable so I thought my odds were best here.
