There is some performance information in the admin manual: http://www.masonhq.com/docs/manual/Admin.html The mod perl documentation includes a performance tuning section: http://perl.apache.org/docs/1.0/guide/index.html Finally, from personal experience, using an http accelerator (such as squid or some other proxy) works wonders, since the apache processes aren't tied up serving slow clients.
