MARC::Charset 0.4 now supports EastAsian character sets. MARC/Perl is a Perl 5 library for reading, manipulating, outputting and converting bibliographic records in the MARC format. The MAchine Readable Cataloging format was designed by the Library of Congress in the late 1960s in order to allow libraries to convert their card catalogs into a digital format. The MARC format was standardized as ANSI/NISO Z39.2 in 1971 and is now being used by libraries around the world to provide computerized access to their collections. MARC::Charset is a module for doing MARC-8/UTF8 translation.
There's a new CVS project for the contents of the website. This is for backup more than anything, but it could be handy for remove updates too.
MARC::Charset is a package designed to make it easy to convert from MARC-8 character sets to Unicode (UTF8).
The MARC::Record source code is now in CVS, and I (petdance) am currently working on retroing the tests to use the new Test::* module framework.
