Hi, let me then try to get the full data model documented as much as I can. As I need information I'll post a message. Taking the number of tables etc. into account, I guess it is 2 days of effort until I'm stuck on those I don't know. I should get back to this list posting my question catalog within the next 2 weeks then. It is not so much to document what goes into a variable or table, but also documenting any rule that applies as well: due to the system not using stored procedures / triggers etc., you implement "must do this way" rules in PHP since mysql does not support to tie your business logic to the database - okay, apart from the fact that stored procedures and triggers can be quite slow ;-) Having those rules (should there be any) documented is the most important as this will be documented nowhere else, things like "when adding an entry to this table, an entry must be added to another table as well". I was referring to the mail list flexibility, I guess it is more my free mail provider and bloody Outlook Express that introduce escape sequences for line breaks and any special character in mails. Making it a bit slower to read and understand ;-) Cheers, Matthias |
