Hello, I've a problem in the work. I have a mantis in 1.0.2, when I try make a backup of mantis database, the system crashes (blue window with machine check exception message). I've thought upgrade the mantis, to 1.1.6. When I try upgrade, it redirects always to install.php, and it shows that there is a table that exists (mantis_bug_list_table). Someone can help me? Thanks beforehand. P.D.: I'm spanish, I'm sorry for my bad english. Cheers... |

I'm sorry, the name of table is mantis_bug_file_table, it shows that it already exists. Thanks beforehand. Cheers... |

There was a problem with the debian installer. See http://www.mantisbt.org/bugs/view.php?id=8846 for a workaround. > > > P.D.: I'm spanish, I'm sorry for my bad english. When I entered in this work, they had already installed Mantis, but I don't remember the version. I've gone updating it with the time. The hard disk of that server is failing ultimately, I want make backup of mantis database, for formatting it and install Windows 2003 Server, but when I try make backup, the server crashes with a blue screen (machine check exception). I can't loose this data ... I've thought in copying mantis dir of data dir of Mysql installation dir in my laptop (I have mysql installed too), but when I try make backup with mysqldump, it fails. I don't know if it's possible ... I'm sorry again for my bad english ;-) And thanks for replying Glenn! Cheers... |

Maybe your disk is really going bad and you may have more success by using a tool that can copy files without caring about bad sectors and such. Maybe you can also create an image of the whole disk and try to rescue the needed data from the image. And if the disk is really bad then formatting it doesn't help. You should buy a new one. Try to read the SMART status of the HD. bye Fabi |

If this doesn't work, I also would say that another way is to make an image of the machine and restore it on a complete new hard drive. Forget the old one. Third possibility (if you are familiar with sql) is to set up a sql-slave server to synchronize the database on a second system and then safely kick the first machine. Good look, Ivan PS: Have you checked the RAM-memory of the machine? |

I copied the data dir of my database of my Mysql installation dir, and I got that data dir in another server with Mysql. This got it after many attempts, because the machine is restarted due to the hard disk constantly. There were two tables corrupt, I couldn't see the data, but it worked in the original database (server with bad hard disk), there, I could open the tables, and I did a export of data and import in the new server (I had luck, because it was little tables). It worked and I'm happy now ;-) Thank you very much! Cheers... |
