This is the issue I always wanted to ask:
What is the difference between resolving and closing particular bug?

When I mark a bug as "resolved", that means that the developer has fixed
the bug. When I close the bug, that means that the user has reviewed it
and agreed that it is actually fixed. If not, the user can reopen the bug
with a comment about a regression error or something else. This will move
the bug to a "feedback" status.
