While putting bug 5333 in state confirmed I just realized I can not
understand the difference between bugs in state confirmed and bugs in
state acknowleded, so I'm not really sure how to do there...

Here we use the two status. We understand acknowledged to be most
appropriated to features, meaning that a feature requested in the issue is
not an absurd and it was at least supercially analised by some developer,
and the developer agrees that has any sense in implementing the feature. We
use confirmed to issues that report bugs, meaning that some developer could
reproduce the bug, even that the issue is not yet assigned.
