We use PhpWiki for our documentation and use a stylesheet to convert the
xhtml export to docbook to htmlhelp and pdf formats :-). I'll be happy to
send you the stylesheet, and you should be able to massage it to convert
whatever wiki html output you want to support.
The wiki system has worked very well for us.

Subject: [Mantisbt-dev] Choosing an engine for Mantis Manual
I'm looking for a new engine for Mantis manual. I believe that if we make
it easier for developers to contribute to it, then it is more likely to stay
up to date.
The two main directions are:
1. Docbook and store XML in Database
If we go with the Docbook approach, then we need to find a way where the
docbook can be exported to an HTML format that can be exported to the
website and still allow readers to provide comments. In this case the
source XML will be stored in CVS.
The Wiki option looks like the easier approach and can get us started
sooner. If we go with this approach, then I would like to choose an engine
with the following features:
1. ACL/Permissions + ability to assigned permissions to user groups.
2. Ability for readers to supply comments.
3. Powerful general Wiki features and standards compliance.
4. Preferably developed in PHP.
5. Ability to export offline snapshots, ideally with the notes. Offline
formats include HTML or PDF.
6. Support for Docbook would be great.
7. Anti-Spam features, whether by requiring users to register or ideally by
using a captcha and spam black lists.
8. Nice look and feel.
9. Ease of fine tuning and extensions.
I'd really appreciate your feedback on this issue. There are comparison
tables available on the internet, but I would love to get your experience
with using or researching specific products.
Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
