Hey team! I have a Q. With the new support for PHP from microsoft and PHP's decision to no longer support MSSQL extension due to that. Mantis V1.3 is still coded for MSSQL where as, the Microsoft extension has some differences and the calling function naming convention is different. Does anyone have a working copy of the DB code that can utilize the new MS extension, or, is their a work around, or is their a group supporting the open source for the old extension that will work with PHP 5.3.5? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to test drive 1.3 if we can find a solution. -Erik |

Currently, we are using an abstraction layer to access the database (namely, ADOdb) so we can support only what that projects provides us. Last time I checked, the sqlsrv driver from Microsoft was not supported so we are stuck in a tricky situation if we want to support the MSSQL Server in 1.3. -- Gianluca Sforna http://morefedora.blogspot.com http://identi.ca/giallu - http://twitter.com/giallu |

Paul Richards (grangeway on mantisbt.org/bugs) has a new database API in the works which uses PDO instead of ADOdb. This will allow you to use the MSSQL PDO driver instead of whatever legacy rubbish it'll be using at the moment. We'll be interested in having as many people testing the new functionality once it is pushed to the master repository. If you're interested in helping develop it, I suggest contacting Paul to see what work needs to be done on the MSSQL front. Keep an eye out on this mailing list and the git repository for further information. David |
