I'm pretty new to web design in general and RSS, so I'm not sure who I should be asking this question, but I'll try here first. . . I want to use Magpie to display the latest blog posts from my WordPress blog on the homepage of my main website, and I got it too work, but I want to alter the appearance so it looks better. You can view what I have so far at http://www.proamsportslinks.com/test3.php. The first thing I want to do is elimnate the time after the date. Now I realize that Magpie is merely putting out what it receives, so I am not sure whether there is some code I should change or add that would eliminate the time after the date, or whether I should be in the WordPress forums trying to figure out how to alter my feed. This is the Magpie code I placed on the test3.php page: <?php require_once 'magpierss/rss_fetch.inc'; $url = 'http://blog.proamsportslinks.com/index.php/feed' ; $num_items = 3; $rss = fetch_rss($url); $items = array_slice($rss->items, 0, $num_items); if ( $rss and !$rss->ERROR) { foreach ( $items as $item ) { echo '
' . $item[title] . '
'; echo 'Posted: ' . $item[pubdate] . '
'; echo $item[ description ] . '
' ; } } else { echo 'RSS Error: ' . $rss->ERROR . '

' ; } ?> In addition to that, I want to use CSS to make some simple changes to the appearance. All I want to do is make the title of the post a size bigger and bold, and to italicize the date. Can someone point me to some information that will walk me through developing the CSS for it? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to CSS as well, so I'd like to find something that can lead m through properly developing the CSS for a Magpie parser since I'm sure I'd waste a lot of time screwing things up if I were to just start banging through it with my limited CSS knowledge. Thank you very much in advance, Mark __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com |
