Hello ... I have tried the last several versions trying files that I have on my palm. It seems to play MP3 audio fine. But if I try a AVI it locks up or produces a error.
I have some large video files that work in MMPlayer that just lock up the palm and I have to do a soft reset.
Also there are some smaller test files on the MMPlayer site (ZZTop video) and I get a error "unknown video fourcc". That is followed with the error "Unsupported or Corrupt Media File. (4) [backend/tml.c:380].
I am just curious if you can point us to a video files you test with so I can see it working.
Sorry forgot to give you information. I have a Zire 72 with UDMH hack. I have tried with and without it. I have about 7 megs free on the palm also.
Currently TML Player only supports the xvid codec (http://www.xvid.org/), so theoretically any file encoded with this and pcm audio should work. The developers are working on futhering the support for other xvid like codecs (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1158699&group_id=126700&atid=706608). The best thing you can do is offer your time, grab the source and do some hacking ^_^.
Absolutely, please anyone slightly interested, go ahead and grab the source and see what you can do. :) You don't need to be a brilliant programmer, just some knowledge of C, and there'll probably be stuff you can do. We only have 2 active programmers despite a number of other people expressing interest then not doing anything.
As to your problem, as tobyt said, the current version only works with pcm audio in avi files. Your sample audio files are probably encoded with mp3 audio. I think some people have been testing with http://hi.errai.net/~nicholas/magiclantern/sample.zip but that's a fairly low quality sample that I originally posted as a quick sample for another developer - you should be able to find / make something better than that.
