I've tried to view the send.avi with my TT1 and it fails with an 'err=7'. As someone suggested that it was an audio bitrate problem, it resampled the .avi with mencoder, but it gave me the same error (tried 11025, 22050, 44100).
Maybe you should takle a look at PsyTexx 1.8 code ? This mod tracker works nicely on my palm.
I think the audio bitrate is a problem on some palms. However this problem is different. I've made a post elsewhere http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=2982052
describing what I think is the problem. A fix is in the version I'm uploading right now.
I've just dowloaded the pre5: Wow ! nice UI !
Unfortunatly, now I get an 'unknown system error (1)' and I need to reset the palm...
Yeah, I've sometimes been getting that happening when I should be getting a nice clean 'out of memory' error.
If it is a memory problem, then here are some possible solutions:
* Try a movie with a lower resolution.
* Try a movie with no sound (ok, kinda pointless then, but something to try)
* Go into Confiuration and turn Video Quality all the way down. This may look horrible (depending on your movie), but should use a little less memory.
* Install UDMH. This is a memory hack which does some dodgey things to increase your available ram. Use at your own risk.
> Try a movie with no sound
I just tried it, and it works ! Also, when I try to play an .ogg file, nothing happens... So it seems that all my problems with the TT1 are sound related.
I've also installed UDHM, but it did not help.
I've downloaded and installed binary version of TML Movie player. Also downloaded sample movie and converted it with the par utility. After synchronizing and installing on palm the Movie player doesn't find the testmovie. It seems to be a dummy question but I didn't find an appropriate entry in this forum on how to install a movie.
I am not sure, but I try help. You do not need to install movie to device's internal memory any more. You simply put it on a SD card and open it with GUI.
What if II don't a an SD Card? Is it still possible to use internal memory?
In my opinion, it is not possible to work without SD card now.
Well, then if got to ask if streaming support is already planned. If not, I may plan do some coding myself :-) If so, I would provide a patch.
One solution is use one of the ram disk type programs to obtain a virtual file system made up of the devices internal memory (http://www.softick.com or http://www.handwatch.com\). I have tried this on the handwatch offering and it seems to work. I have not found any that are open source.
Shouldn't be too hard to add file stream support. All the backend support already exists. It just needs a user interface which lets you select a file. Feel free to provide a patch :)
