hi every body, well i have many questions, i really need your help!! 1) i work with debian sarge kernel 2.6.13, wireless tools v28, openssl v0.9.8a, freeradius v1.0.5, madwifi ng 2006/01/23, atheros 5212 based card. when i set up my ap it shows a message which says this: iwconfig Wireless-Tools version 28 Compatible with Wireless Extension v11 to v19. Kernel Currently compiled with Wireless Extension v18. ath0 Recommend Wireless Extension v13 or later, Currently compiled with Wireless Extension v18. so what should i do to kernel and ath0 use v28 too?? i compiled again kernel but always it's compiled using v18. i think it could help solve some problems i have with this 2)where could i find a description of what exactly means and do all iwpriv options?? i'd like to know for example what does "bintval, ff, xr, ar", etc, means and how they work with the driver, i have the pdf users guide, but there's no explanation about what exactly they mean and do . And how to interpret code of driver_caps? 3)i want to add security to my wlan so i'm trying to use wpa2 (freeradius), is it necessary to type for example: iwpriv ath0 keymgtalgs 2 iwpriv ath0 wpa 3 and if so how say driver it should redirect frames to freeradius before let users use wlan?? or should i do it with hostapd?? (commands keymgtalgs and wpa aren't necessaries so??) 4)my ap is very unstable, it looses connections suddenly and it's virtually impossible to recover it, i must physically restart my ap to clients can connect again. i have some captures of athdebug and 80211debug but i don't know what they mean, is there any document explaining this?? here are some captures: Beginning debug and connection ok: Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_start: Q1: (ds)dd88a040 (lk)00000000 (d)0e8c8010 (c0)412200b0 (c1)064080ac 000b0000 0000001b Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_txqaddbuf: txq depth = 2 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_txqaddbuf: link[1] (dd889fe0)=1d88a040 (dd88a040) Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_intr: status 0x40 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: tx queue 1 (0x1d88a040), link dd88a040 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: frame's last desc: dd889fe0 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: T (dd889fe0 1d889fe0) 1d88a040 0ef68020 03220072 0700006e 000b0000 0000001b 91f00001 00050955 * Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: free skb d4bb6540 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: frame's last desc: dd88a040 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: T (dd88a040 1d88a040) 00000000 0e8c8010 412200b0 064080ac 000b0000 0000001b 00000000 00000000 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_intr: status 0x9 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_rx_tasklet Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: R (dcda3330 1cda3330) 1cda3360 17a73020 00000000 00000c60 12dd8036 08fe0003 * Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: NODS 00:14:a4:2d:0c:34->ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff(ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff) probe_req 1M +45 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 40 10 00 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff 00 14 a4 2d 0c 34 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ff ff ff ff ff ff c0 0d 00 00 01 08 02 04 0b 16 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 24 30 48 6c 32 04 0c 12 18 60 dd 06 00 10 18 02 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 00 00 52 a7 8a ff Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_start: skb0 d4bba0a0 [data dd1a3810 len 172] skbaddr 1d1a3810 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: NODS 00:0f:66:11:c1:97->00:14:a4:2d:0c:34(00:0f:66:11:c1:97) probe_resp 1M Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 50 00 3a 01 00 14 a4 2d 0c 34 00 0f 66 11 c1 97 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 00 0f 66 11 c1 97 50 03 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 64 00 21 04 00 0a 57 4c 41 4e 45 53 50 4f 43 48 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 01 08 82 84 8b 0c 12 96 18 24 03 01 02 07 06 4e Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 41 49 01 0b 1b 20 01 00 30 18 01 00 00 0f ac 02 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 02 00 00 0f ac 04 00 0f ac 02 01 00 00 0f ac 02 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 00 00 dd 1a 00 50 f2 01 01 00 00 50 f2 02 02 00 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 00 50 f2 04 00 50 f2 02 01 00 00 50 f2 02 2a 01 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 00 32 04 30 48 60 6c dd 18 00 50 f2 02 01 01 84 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 00 02 a3 40 00 27 a4 00 00 42 43 5e 00 62 32 2f Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: 00 dd 09 00 03 7f 01 01 00 24 ff 7f Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_start: Q1: (ds)dd88a0a0 (lk)00000000 (d)1d1a3810 (c0)412200b0 (c1)064080ac 000b0000 0000001b Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_txqaddbuf: txq depth = 2 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_txqaddbuf: link[1] (dd88a040)=1d88a0a0 (dd88a0a0) Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_intr: status 0x40 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: tx queue 1 (0x1d88a0a0), link dd88a0a0 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: frame's last desc: dd88a040 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: T (dd88a040 1d88a040) 1d88a0a0 0e8c8010 412200b0 064080ac 000b0000 0000001b f9f70001 0005cb6d * Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: free skb ddca22e0 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_tx_processq: frame's last desc: dd88a0a0 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: T (dd88a0a0 1d88a0a0) 00000000 1d1a3810 412200b0 064080ac 000b0000 0000001b 00000000 00000000 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_intr: status 0x9 Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: ath_rx_tasklet Jan 25 10:45:14 localhost kernel: R (dcda3360 1cda3360) 1cda3390 1c80b020 00000000 00000c60 12ad8036 4e1c0005 !
