It's your choice, of course. But one doesn't need to be a cracker (nor
even specially knowledged) to break into an unsecured wireless network.
Compare it with a situation where you offer access to your switch down on
the road, with a "free to use" patch cable that everyone can plug their
laptop in to. They become part of your network, they can access your
shared files, they can see the data you move in your network.
If you ask me, I'd rather work a bit more on securing the WLAN...
